    Buonasera - Good evening
    Buonanotte - Good night
    Per favore - Please
    Grazie - Thank you
Mi scusi - Excuse me (formal)

  • Greetings: A common greeting is a kiss on both cheeks, though the number of kisses can vary by region. In more formal settings or with strangers, a handshake is appropriate.

Dress: Italians are known for their stylish and elegant dress. When visiting churches, religious sites, or formal settings, dress modestly and smartly. Avoid wearing shorts and sleeveless tops in these contexts.

Tipping: In restaurants, a service charge is often included in the bill, but it’s customary to leave small change or a few extra euros if you’re satisfied with the service. Tipping in cafes and bars is not always expected.

Meal Times: Italians tend to eat later than in some other cultures. Lunch typically starts around 1:00 PM and dinner around 8:00 PM or later. Many restaurants close between lunch and dinner service.

    Public Behaviour:
    - While punctuality is appreciated, social events may start later than the stated time. For business meetings and formal occasions, being on time is important.
    - Maintain a respectful demeanor in public spaces. Loud behavior, especially in public transportation or restaurants, is generally frowned upon.
    - Italians are comfortable with close physical proximity during conversations. However, be mindful of personal space in other contexts, particularly in queues or public transport.
